Session 3: Spiritual Disciplines Application (Individual)
The purpose of this session is the “How to” of being clothed with Christ. This is done by: 1) Learning from the use of Spiritual Disciplines; 2) Noticing what and who have helped us to grow in the past so we can be aware and open as we continue to grow in Christ.
EXTENDING THE COMMITMENT
Consider the Spiritual Discipline that you studied.
- What most stood out to you in your time with God regarding the discipline you chose?
- How might you begin to put this into practice over the next 6 months to a year in order to be clothed with Christ?
- Write down your ideas.
NOTICING EXAMPLES AND MENTORS
Think about someone in your life who has been a model in a spiritual discipline that creates Christ-likeness in them.
- What are the specific characteristics and actions of the people in your life who are Christ-like?
- Write down your observations.
Spend some time in prayer, asking for the ability to pursue the spiritual disciplines that will bring you closer to God and mold you into Christ-likeness.
